Post and discuss some event ideas.
I post about a redneck group on another thread that gave me ideas for some new events.
Rednecks A group of survivors that can spawn with any weapon/armor. You could find a group that is equipped with improvised clubs, hammers, grenades and army rifles. The better the weapon the less chance of rednecks spawning with it. They wont shoot civilians unless they need their items or are hungry or something. When this group appears in your district you wouldn't immediately know if they hostile or friendly. They would be a big problem if you're well stocked.
Herd: A group of 10 zombies that enters you district at once. It would include zombie prince, zombie masters, neophytes, zombies, skeletons and moar zombies. It could be an even bigger group that makes you think immediately of escaping the district.
Storm: Mother nature playing with the poor survivors. Your sight and movement would be greatly hindered. It would be to cloudy for daylight. It could last for 2 days.
Dog pack: Ravenous dogs enter you district. They would eat groceries and canned food. If they become hungry they attack any living actor. Dogs attack in pack and they retreat if they are injured, and they try to stay away from zombies.

Fire? A random building bursts into flames, possibly from that storm you mentioned.

Why would it need a storm? Random electrical shortage, citizens trying to get out and screwing crap up, zombie rats etc.
Anyways.
Sewer overflow: Sewers have been clogged with rain, zombie rats and sewer things come from sewer ladders/gutters.
Gas explosion: Explosions happen near a building due to propane explosion, or various reasons, sets fire to things nearby
Tornado: A random tornado runs through the area, sucks up zombies and survivors alike.

I think if there is a sewer overflow event it should be related to the already coded raining and have to do with it. Like if it rains for a few days nonstop for real, otherwise it might just be repetitive and out of place that my opinion.
Herd: Play with 200 max zombies and you might get '' herds '' a lot without even requiring an event.
Rednecks: Why not call em bandits or something like rogue survivors (Survivors gone rogue lol)

Cause you can't get the dukes of hazard theme song with bandits And yes I do agree with the rain itself. I do also think the sewers should flood and become able to drown you should it flood as well if you head into it.

I think if sewers get flooded or at least enough water to swim in, there should be creepy monsters like mutated snake-like creatures or odd fishes with legs aaah is this out of subject?

Some event ideas I have:
Army "Scans": The government will "scan" a region, and depending on what is dedected there, another event would follow in the next hour. This would serve as a warning for some of the following ideas:
Bomb Drops: In the event that a scanned area has a certina number of undeads, the government could bomb the area, causing massive damage to anything there. Bombs could also do damage to barricades, doors, windows, furniture, fences, etc, or cause cars in the area to be set on fire.
The Army Scan could also innitiate other events: areas with survivors could prompt the drop of Army Supplies, the National Gaurd or sometimes a "That guy". Perhaps characters such as Bikers or Gangstas could cause a higher chance of "That guy" deployment. Areas with undeads could prompt the National Gaurd or "That guy" to be dropped there.

If there is something like bomb drops i hope we have the possibility to stop the army from doing so, for example break their land signal for the homing rockets or something like that and play hero.

Exodus: civilians are leaving the district en masse. You can follow and try to survive with a big group of civilians or stay in the district alone. If there is something like bomb drops i hope we have the possibility to stop the army from doing so, for example break their land signal for the homing rockets or something like that and play hero. That sounds like a plot. Bomb drop could encompass 1 to 5 districts (or maybe the whole city). If you're not really feeling in the mood to be bombed, you could find the army Outpost that gave the order. Obviously the outpost would be overrun by zombies or taken over by bikers or CHAR, you'd need to fight in and get to the radio to cancel the drop. ....That sounds almost like a game by itself

I'd actually rather find a bomb shelter/basement and bunker there till the bombs are done. It's better than stopping it because all the zombies would die, and I don't give a flying f*** about others.

The bomb drop reminds me of Battle Royale. In the movie a group of students were placed on an island that was divided into various zones, and each morning "danger zones" would be announced so the students had to leave those areas if they want to live, which aimed to concentrate them into smaller areas with each passing day.
You could find an Army radio that informs you which districts will be bombed, and you'd have to either leave those districts or hide out in a basement.
After an area has been bombed, the tileset would change. Bombed out buildings, burnt trees, all cars on fire, and everything on the surface at the time of the bombing would be dead. This could tie into a storyline, because bombing would reveal previously inaccessible areas.

I'm imagining a Super Special Event that happens after a long time of play. In short, the military's going to raze the entire city.
How it would start would be by word of mouth. While chatting to survivors there's a chance you'll get an event box (like the one that appears when talking to the prisoner) that tells you the person's heard rumors the military's getting ready for something big. A few days later, someone will get word of the big event: They're going to destroy the entire city. This will cause a small amount of survivors to begin attacking the National Guard, but not all of them. The next day, the entire city's heard. The Guard is now openly firing on survivors, more of Those Guys are appearing, and all supply drops have stopped. Then comes the big part. They've set up a bomb somewhere. This would be in a large, non-generated basement full of Nat'l Guard and Those Guys. You'd have 5 days to get to it before the entire city is destroyed. However, if you wait for a little before attacking, people will be waiting. On the third day, you'll have an opportunity to, if you're near the basement entrance, join a large assault. This would consist of nearly everyone who's not military: Survivors, policemen, gangsters, bikers, maybe even some CHAR guards. When you get to the bomb, a technician will spawn and approach it to defuse it. Once he defuses it, the event's basically over. National Guard and Those Guys won't spawn as often, and the military won't send in supplies anymore. Maybe there would be supply vans people drive into town to help out the survivors?
...Man, I've put too much into this.

Large battles would be awesome. It could be like in Dragon Age.
