Why don't they decay/disappear with time but can still be eaten/consumed by zombies

I would say national guard gets rid of them, since there could be uses for zombie corpses later. Or possible ways for survivors to do so later. Such as shovels/burying/fire

If your home is full of corpses i'd say they should disappear after awhile or you should have an *option to burn em or something idk, corpses personally annoy me i hope i'm not too selfish with this thread

The option to burn them/Bury them sounds a bit better actually, maybe later on it'd be a good idea to get rid of them or else you'd have issues with zombies/things that use them later on.
Generally, I'm rather opposed to any "instant" get rid of, since it's a zombie apocalypse, and things don't decay away after a week or two.

Maybe the bodies should stack and you could use them as barricades

Clearly we should be able to make skull thrones from the bodies so that we may give praise to Khorne.

Clearly we should be able to make skull thrones from the bodies so that we may give praise to Khorne. That made me laugh irl xD, but seriously i think there should be real corpses different for each actor, it could easily be blurried with gore blood. then bodies could decay and turn into bones till they disappear idk

Maybe corpses should have 2 stages.
1st stage: Fresh Corpse, last for 96 hours. Can be eaten to regenerate HP(for zombies) and regenerate Food (for Living... yes people, cannibalism).
2nd stage: Decaying Corpse, last for 2 weeks, after which they disappear.
(I was going to suggest that corpses become a source of infection but it seems decaying bodies do not spread more diseases than a living one does)
* Cannibalism: an "easy" way to get food. Opposed to the "hard" way, Planting.

how about with the addition of playing after death, having a few turns after a survivor is killed when you can feast on the body lasting only a few turn {5-10?} which would heal you. watch the old early 1980'2 Romero Dawn of the Dead, when the gangs busted into the mall then dead would feast on the bodies for a short while immediately after their death. seems they would do so for only a short while tho, maybe until the body lost its heat? Or some corpses actually being "alive" but crippled zombies which will bite you when you step on them. There's a scene in the original Day of the Dead where one of the soldiers shoves a shovel in a zombie's mouth and cuts the top part of it's head off. The upper head bounces away and comes to a stop. Then the eyes in the head start looking around because the brain wasn't destroyed. Imagine a corpse being a zombie with a severed neck and brain stem so it can't move, but it's still active.

The more corpses, the better. This game demands a desolate worldview in which corpses are not tidily disappeared.
In reality, a corpse would last years. It might turn into a skeleton, but it will remain a corpse.
Surviving seven days is hard. You'd have to survive months to even have corpses turn into skeletons. Years for skeletons to "disappear" and even then only through weather and animals carrying them away.
In a real zombie apocalypse, the streets would be lined--and piled up--with corpses.
Fire might eliminate them. Maybe we could set fires to remove corpses.

Fire might eliminate them. Maybe we could set fires to remove corpses. That would give the National Guard more to do in the game. It makes sense that they would gather and burn corpses also. Of course, why a player would gather and burn bodies is beyond me since that would be really, really risky.

I think they should stay as one of the main "flaws" I have with a game is a body disappearing. Really pisses me off.
