My thoughts on the elemental zombies should've been made clearer. Fire zombies are generally shamblers that have gotten caught on fire, and are essentially, much more dangerous as they can catch things on fire. Later on after some time passes, they become skeletons due to their mass and fat and organs burning away, or if say rain puts them out they return to normal, without turning into skeletons. Wouldn't fire actually kill them? There's not too much on the human body fire won't destroy. That's kind of why cremation works. Except bodies don't tend to act like capacitors.

Some more suggestions:
- Riot police: They appear only once, within the first day. They are armed with truncheons, anti-riot gear and... maybe a shield? They try to hit everything on sight except cops (you know, they don't know anything about the zombie outbreak, for them it just look like a riot). Maybe if they survive a day they turn friendly, if that is possible.
- Firefighters: Just like normal civilians, but armed with an axe.
- Paramedics: Same as above, but with medkits and bandages.
- TV Crew: A reporter with leadership and a cameraman following him. Nothing special about them either.
- More "special" survivors: Shaun and Ed from Shaun of the Dead, L4D characters...
Sorry for my english, I hope you can understand my post.

Does the AI effectively use bandages? Is it even possible to heal others? If you use a medikit or bandages on a living who has full health, does the item disappear?
Do doctors and nurses already do this? (I don't think they do, because I see so many medical supplies unlooted in the hospital.)
Paramedics would be cool, if any NPC with the medical skill would try to heal other livings. I bet they would help a lot--it would be interesting to just see how the simulation goes with paramedics added.

1. add a "sleep" order for follower NPCs.
2. add Vampire NPCs to the game, which go above ground during the night and hang out in sewers and basements during the day. some are hostile, some aren't, and some might even be led(would require 5 leadership and takes up all NPC slots). Vampires must sleep during the day, and die if caught outside during the day. Vampires must feed on humans or freshly-turned zombies, and the player can feed their Vampire follower their own blood at the cost of HP, food, sleep, and stamina.
