Go look at my other thread :V Alllso, I did not play on 1088%, I played at 99%, and changed the difficulty after saving and quitting. It calculated my score @ 1088%. Hurr exploit need fix. Still 150 is impressive. Ja?

150 is NOT impressive
It just shows that you are a camping halfwit that sits in a corner the entire day instead of actually being involved in the Street Chaos, a single day there brings more glory than a 100 days spent sitting down doing pretty much nothing at all

Brb smiting you for being an ass. I hunkered down after 40 days of actively getting supplies. SORRY FOR HANGIN UP THE OLE HUNTING BOW.
Also being alive at day 150 < being active at day 51?
Edit:
Also what the ever living fuck, wasn't the topic of this thread "How long have you gone?". It wasn't, "How many days did you keep trawling about looking for supplies." it wasn't, "How long did you avoid dying while being involved in street chaos?". It is "How long did you survive?", regardless of if you amassed a stockpile and holed yourself up somewhere, or died roaming about in search of just another thirty cans of food, or another days worth of ammo, or another zombie siege worth of ammo* medical supplies. So, fuck off and don't call me a halfwit for being able to amass supplies, fortify my defenses, and avoid getting my brains eaten.
Edit: *Hurrhurr meant to type meds the first time, le repetition fail.
Additional edit: What the fuck does glory mean in a zombie apocalypse?

There is a major difference between "Scavenging for resources" and "Actually living on the Surface", the First is just simply running out, grabbing everything you can and running away from dangers before running back to your lil' camp
The latter is actually LIVING at street level, handling dangers, getting shot at and shooting at shit that wants to kill you, as someone that has survived 81 days on the surface(No camping at all), you are just whining for no reason
And stop being a Overreactive Dickbitch, you are just telling me that a simple critic with the correct words can send you into a raging fit

There is a difference between criticism and being an asshole to someone because you think your way of doing something is superior.
Edit: Hint, the line is generally drawn when you insult someone personally instead of criticizing in a constructive manner.

If I'm living like a nomad, never keeping a safehouse, I usually last 7 days or so. I usually last a week or two per foodstore safehouse, depending on how many light eater skills I've stacked on. By the way nop, in my opinion, keeping a safehouse isn't cheating in the least bit, and is realistically the endgame for zombie apocalypse survival (at least according to my Zombie Survival Guide). It may not be the most exciting way to play, but don't discount it because you don't like it personally. Also, if you wish to discuss your own personal survival theories, you may want to use the 'Strategic Tips' section instead of here.

around 120 days at 100% on vintage, with permanent death. (Alpha 8)
**spoilers here**
After about 30-40 characters, all dieing horribly, I finally found a strategy that worked for me (and had lots of luck).
Playing as a loner, my first order of business was to rush to the nearest, largest grocery store, block it off and camp out. With food supplies dwindling after a week or two, I next went to the police station to arm up, grabbing supplies on the way, and then hit the Char district.
The next week consisted of me cleaning out any surviving Char employees, locating the underground facility, and stockpiling every bit of food I could find in the grid. I avoided all confrontation whenever possible, and used up all the trackers avoiding Those Guys.
When the Char supplies began to run low, I came up with a plan to get inside that underground facility. Hiring 2 others I blocked the top underground facility with cars, stationed my two lackeys at the door fully armed, and went down.
I threw several grenades in every direction, ran up, out of the building and tried to hold the entrance from the horde.. It ended pretty badly but I managed to be faster than my two less fortunate partners.
With the underground facility cracked open and spewing forth the horrors of the lab, I made my way to the hospital with a flashlight and my last grenade (to take care of you know who).
With full light eater and a rigid eating schedule, I managed to stretch the supplies there for many weeks, every week going above for some quick scavenging (lucking out big time with nearby supply drops).
After that I headed to the Char underground facility, by now there were only a handful of stragglers still there and I was ready for them. I found the switches, and lived out the rest of my days fortifying a maze of walls and traps, stockpiling cans, and never going above ground (besides the few times there was a breach to re-fortify).
At around day 120.. Jack was down to his last can of food. He made his way above ground and surveyed the area.. A street full of zombies.
We had lost, there was no rescue coming, the national guard had been defeated. Sure there was probably a supply drop nearby.. but what was the point anymore? Unable to turn the gun on himself, Jack dropped everything besides his trusty colt, a clip of ammo, and walked into the nearest group of zombies for one last stand.
TL;DR
It doesn't matter how long you survive, death is inevitable 0.o (had a hell of a time though!).

In my current (and best) run, I'm at day 82. I'm a complete zombie slayer, because I chose VTG. It gets HECTIC at nights, but my Katana does the job, with occasional help from the Hans von Hanz pistol and my crossbow. I rarely settle down, but I just cleared out the underground facility. Big problem is, I think there are still a few disciples hanging around. Other than that, I'm going to fortify it up and wait it out for as long as possible. I cannot TELL you how many people I trapped into going down to the facility. XD They generally made it for a whopping 7 turns before the disciples got them. I just used them as absorbing cover while I sniped away. Probably my guilty pleasure is dragging around disciples into a group of survivors, and having them tear them to pieces, then eating all the food they dropped. I have yet to murder, but I'm afraid that I will have to in order to survive after the facility's supplies run out.

crymsonchaos, don't be afraid to murder. In this game, there is no law anymore after day ten, it's just kill or be killed.

It's easy to find someone and then waste them with a good bullet, but it's a lot harder to track them, try to let them die, and it's also a lot more fun to watch the AI's foolish decisions. XD

Now where's the fun in that? Someone enters my safehouse, chances are they're not coming out. They'll likely be pumped with crossbow bolts just for those three cans of food they stole.

It it wasn't for the lack of beds, a subway section with no surface exits would be very reasonable as a safehouse (at least in V9).

I rarely have a safehouse. I just stockpile excess goods in the fourth floor of the hospital. Currently, I have enough canned food to feed a small ARMY down there, and the arms too. It it wasn't for the lack of beds, a subway section with no surface exits would be very reasonable as a safehouse (at least in V9). Just wait, the subways get overrun very easily. A small army of zed is chasing some people, they seek shelter below. Army follows, people get nommed, and then you have a ton of zed wandering around, breaking your stuff, etc. It's not uncommon when I do a belowground loot run to pick up ammo and the like to encounter 10 zed in one area alone. Thankfully, I pack enough heat to wipe out 40. XD
