i have always loved the thought of bartering in a post apocalyptic world. my idea would be there would be an underground base with armed guards that zombies just dont go. so basically at this store u can trade your extra stuff for credits or each item has a value which can be traded for and item of similar or lower value. of course some things would have none like improvised weapons or empty spray paint cans. i think this would help and would put a more realistic feel to the game because there would be places like this would form sooner or later. they could also have limits of items so you cant just trade 30 planks for tons of food like 10 of each item so stocks empty and what not. i think npcs should be able to use this to if possible.

this is a bitchin' idea! it would allow us to trade the ammo for weapons we don't use for stuff we need.

... It would allow us to trade the ammo for weapons we don't use for stuff we need. My strategy requires using all six ammo classes of ranged weapons.

Unrealistic, Stupid and doesn't fit
RS is supposed to give the impression that "Nowhere is completely safe" and this is enforced by the fact that the Undead can and will track you down/find you no matter where you go(And even worse if there are ZM's involved"
With a guarded place lacking zombie involvement, that would take the point away and make the game easy to the point of kid's play
