Hospitals make bad first nights.

I wanted a good melee weapon and I had a shotgun so I went over to the hospital since it was only a district over from my starting location. I made my way down quickly, killed Jason, took the axe, turned on the power, got supplies, turned off the power to guard the supplies, and slept. All of the sudden I'm being attacked by a patient, so I casually chop her head off with my new axe. Afterwards, I stroll down the hallway killing a few more patients. I go back to sleep, get awakened again, kill more people, go to sleep. By now it's day two, hour 14. I start going through the hallway and notice zombies. I am then mobbed by three zombies and a neophyte, when I have an axe, a few shotgun sheels, and some bandaids. It didn't end well for me.

Yep, also other patients and people walking around make a GREAT scent trail for all the zombies to follow. It's like a huge sign "COME HERE!" above the entrance.

BTW didn't you know that hospitals are VERY bad places in any zombie fiction?

The hospital is a good place actually, the bad things is actually that the AI from the humans is so stupid that they wait until they starve in the hospital meaning that after 2-4 days everyone is dead or an zombie.
Also when you run out of ammo or food when you are in the hospital while many zombies attack, they may block your only way too escape meaning that you are trapped.
The hospital is a risky place, but when you build barricades and stock up food and ammo and kill every person inside, you have a good base to hide.
