Awesome game, but sometimes I wish I could try to rid the city of all zombies and make it safe again. Unfortunately, this is currently not possible, because there is no way to limit the influx of zombies.
Therefore I suggest a new mode that puts the city in total quarantine:
- 0% daily zombie increase.
- No refugees, gangs, bikers, national guard, "Those guys", etc. showing up at any point other than the very beginning (I imagine the first few days will be mayhem with all these groups fighting zombies and each other .
- No supply drops (maybe or maybe not - not sure about this).
- 100% starting zombie population.
- A counter that shows remaining zombies (either for the whole game, or for the district you are in.)
(Instead of a game mode, these could also be configurable in the game options.)
This mode has clear winning and losing conditions (you kill all the zombies or you die) and would open up some strategic considerations. Do you hide until you are stronger before you start killing zombies or start immediately? If you wait, they will be stronger (if you use evolution) or they will be more (other people dying). And if you wait too long you will die of starvation before killing all of them, because there is finite food in the city. Do you hide food and supplies for your own use at the risk of other people dying and becoming zombies, or do you share them so the living can help you by killing zombies?
I think it would be fun: try to be the last person standing in a safe but desolate city, or get some followers and pretend you will be repopulating the world.
