hey, i'm having some trouble in my current game (alpha 9 w/ Deonapocalypse mod). i want my followers to pick up ammo, food, and, when theirs breaks, melee weapons. but when i set their directives to take items they fill up on useless shit like planks, spraypaint, police radios, empty cans, etc..
so what i would like to see is an extra menu appears when your follower's directives allows them to take items. with the menu you would tell them for example take food, take ammo, take melee if none in inventory, don't take planks, don't take spraypaint, don't take police radios, don't take ztracker, etc.
with the take ammo option on you could tell them to prioritize ammo for equipped weapon or vice versa or to pick up any ammo they find, and to reload the equipped weapon after each combat.
also, you could tell your companions to trade certain items between each other. these options could include giving food and pills to a companion who is hungrier or more tired than them, giving ammo for a weapon they don't own to a companion who has that weapon, and giving building materials to a companion with a higher carpentry skill than them, etc..

i would also like to suggest a "hold your ground" order. it would act like the guard command, but instead of running to you after fighting a zombie they will hold their position until seriously injured at which point they come running back to you for protection. this could potentially allow a player to garrison a building thus securing a base of operations.
another command i'd like to suggest is "repair barricades", which would allow followers to repair barricades and fortifications if they have the materials, when the barricade is in an area they have been ordered to guard.
