ASCII Tileset (On-Hold) By L33TMaster
!!!!NEW NOTICE!!!!
This project is on hold for the long run. I would like to finish it but there have been issues that cause the character to be covered up with whatever the player is holding. I've have actually been working on another tileset though that actually looks and functions wonderfully with RS and will be released all at once(it will still receive updates, fixes and the such) If you find a way around the overlay issue and want me to finish it, let me know.
Old notice
After some time playing RogueSurvivor, I started wondering what the game would be like if it were ASCII like traditional Roguelikes. I then realized that I can make my own tileset for the game. Although I still am no longer in the process of making it you can download the work I have done so far. There also isn't any defined font, more info in the Readme supplied.
Finished:
Actors, Effects, Rain, Walls, Floors, Sewer Water, Stairs, Some Furniture, and more I'm too lazy too add!

I love me some ASCII. Keep it up. Never liked RS graphics. Have you tried 2-tone sprites? You know, reduced color, reduced style. Not ascii, but reminiscent of ascii.

You mean like the older RPGs from the nineties like Gameboy games. I never tried to make a sprite like that but i'll try.

*update (not posted) making you wait I havent made an update since tuesday, I lost all week to playing Twisted Metal. I have stumbled upon a problem, items. I dont want to see them in your hands, but i want to see it in your inventory. Help and Suggestions anyone anyone that helps will get an imaginary cookie(free shipping) "I can't promise that that a chunk won't be bitten off"

K.I.S.S, just make inventory icons for the items. Are you talking about indicating when a character is armed? You could just have a tiny "A" above their head, or weapon icon, or highlight them with an outline, or a dozen other methods. Experiment and use what works. Don't rely on the opinions of others. Trust in your own abilities.

**update** not finished yet writers block.....well artists block Just set a 15 minute timer and work the whole time, even menial pixel pushing, tweaking, whatever. At the end of the 15 minutes you can quit or keep on working. My damn brain falls for this one every time. And pretty soon you find yourself saying "Well, I could finish this tiny bit." followed by "I could maybe spend an extra 5 minutes touching this up.", followed by "Whats one more?" Sort of like extracting money from the ATM at a bar. You keep on coming back for more. So get to work! Set that timer, and push past the block, even if everything you produce is total garbage in that 15 minute soul-crushing-pit-of-boredom. Because once you hit bottom, where else is there to go? Surely not up! You didn't bring a ladder and now your fucked, haha! So you keep on digging down, till you hit gold..and hope you can climb back out after.

New Update, Rock On added ranged weapons added flashlight fixed another error with zombies appearing as "@" (why does this keep happening?!)

New update: GUI is getting an awesome overhaul more weapons done, almost all of them

Just work when its a good time for you. Obstacles are obstacles my good man. Also the ASCII tiles are absolutely lovely. I like the mixture of sprite work and text symbols. Makes foreground and background very readable.
