So, you might have seen it in a zombie horror movie sort of thing. That hapless survivor is running like hell, but still, a zombie manages to kill him.
Now, lets compare what happens.
In Rogue Survivor, that zombie maybe gets one hit on that person before the person just runs off in the oposite direction.
And the movie? Or perhaps, what a more realistic zombie would do?
The zombie grabs the human, holding him in place, and perhaps attacking him with other limbs, giving the other zombies an opertunity to lurch forward and attack. That's one ability for zombies I would like to see.
The second ability I suggest is Lunge. Zombies would have a "lunge" bar, which would build up over time. The "lunge" bar would increase by one point every turn, and when it reached fifty, the zombie could "lunge" when the human was not standing next to them, but one tile farther away. After that, it would still be the zombies turn, giving them one turn to attack or grab. This would allow slower zombies to not be decimated by melee users, and would still be balanced seeing that it could not be used that often. Used with grab, and it could give you a bigger reason to not just backpedal and swing, when faced by a shambler.
