Baseball bats, police batons, shotguns, Army Rifles, Light rifles, pistols, these are the most used and most prefered guns/weapons in the RS universe
But as always, they lack something, well, here is :
1.Burst Fire -(Taken off Fallout 1&2) Burst fire is basically firing a gun multiple times in rapid succession, This has reduced accuracy and use up several bullets, which means that one shot is going to hit something, and Something is the Keyword : Burst-fire can and will hit several people in a cone, whether you intend to hit them or not, you could be burst-firing at a shambler but you might end up hitting your buddy, the shambler, a helping survivor and some random cop that happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, of course, people won't take that easily, Burst fire can also be used to attack a adjacent(or maybe two tiles away) repeatedly, hopefully killing, the shotgun(Assuming it is pump action) may not burst fire, nor can the Precision rifle
2.Cover - a Very real life thing, The living(NOT ZOMBIES, NOT ZOMBIE MASTERS) can take cover/Crouch down/lay down to help Protect against Ranged Attacks(Melee attacks are still the same) while providing a bonus(When returning fire with a Ranged weapon, of course), the effect and protection depends on Status, a Living lying down is going to be more protected against shots and have a bigger bonus then one that's crouching, and a living behind a car gets more protection then a living behind a small fortification(Not bonus), of course you need to be able to be shot at behind a object to receive the defense bonus, crouching/Lying down take one and two turns respectively, but you could always drop to the ground at a Stamina loss to lie down without using two turns, of course standing up would take one/two turns respectively(And some stamina as well)
3.Mortars - a Rare Weapon, Carried by some National Guardsmen and maybe perhaps a few lucky Refugees, when selected, it does nothing, but you can "A"ctivate it to deploy it, and once deployed, you can use it to launch explosive shells within a LARGE area, in smaller districts this can mean the whole map, The shells are more powerful then a grenade(Bigger radius and more damage) but come with a few drawbacks, first, it can only be effectively used against things on the Street, if the shells hit a house, it would be weaker(Perhaps half or 33% damage and smaller radius?) or sometimes even nullified, the Shells are slightly more rare then Grenades, but in a pinch you could fire a grenade, but it is highly not recommended, some grenades may explode mid-air, as for the firing, you could probably get a screen that spans the whole district(As always, undiscovered = Blacked) when you "F"ire, then move the cursor over to the location you wish to bombard and fire, the shots will try to hit within the area but it is inaccurate and may end up going to the wrong place(Hell, it'll be interesting if a player fires a mortar at a close area and ends up eating his own mortar shell)
3.Military Radio - Not much of a weapon, the Military Radio can be taken off a dead NG or found(For lucky people), The radio is basically a Tracker that Tracks Everything BUT, The information is blurrish and not exact/Direct, you won't be able to see little dots of that zombie horde, but you might see a small/large square, The radio has a Solar Panel that charges when the carrier is under sunlight(Not at night, reduced effect under cloudy, further reduced under rain and even more reduced under heavy rain), National Guards will also often talk into the radio, and thus is also useful to determine places where you should avoid, the radio also has a Small taser that can be used to stun/slow down Both Living and Undead
4.Flares - flares are things that make a colored smoke and fire, the flare can be used in two ways : With a Flaregun or by it's own, when loaded into a flaregun, it enhances it's effect(And shorten the time needed) and can also instead be fired at flammable objects that include Human Flesh to set them on fire, there are several types of flares and they have different effects :
Red Flares - Used to signal for help, When a survivor sees it, they can do two things : either go towards it to help, or stay away, a Cop will go towards it to help, The military won't give a shit, Red flares also burn better then other flares and thus is more effective when used as a weapon, most common type
Blue Flares - For signaling Safezones, Survivors that see it might go towards it and quite thus a blue flare can expect groups to be around it, survivors will hang around for a while before moving on, perfect if you need fresh recruits or if you plan adding 1-7 more murders to your record, once again the military doesn't give a shit, worst choice if you're planning to use as ammunition for fighting
Military Flares - The only flare type that the National Guard cares about, NGs that see it will go towards it, When used for fighting, the Flare both Burns and marks the target with green smoke that surround the victim for two hours, making him a easier target, make people(Including civies) that see him shoot even if it is friendly(A cop, even) and gives forward warning about his approach
Supply Flares - Rare Flares, The Supply flare is basically a Flare that requests supplies, a Supply Drop is dropped around the area where the flare is used in the form of a Crate containing food and medical supplies inside(And possibly Some weapons), used for combat, it explodes instead of burn, but i'd highly doubt somebody would use it for Fighting, there is also a Militarized version that drops a crate full of weapons and ammo instead
Airstrike Flare - The most Powerful flare in terms of usage, The Airstrike flare calls on a Bomber that bombs a small area and strafes a larger area with bullets, this is the only flare that operates at full efficiency without a flaregun(You shouldn't even be using a flaregun for this in the first place), for combat, it both burns it's target, and calls on a Airstrike(Weaker one)
I'm open for suggestions, Criticism, Rage posts, Random Shit postsAnd off-topic posts
