In late game they only source of food is through army drops, which I've got nothing against actually. But I'd like to play the eventual break up of the national guards. This would be an irreparable situation where the national guards wont be able to help the city.
In this scenario it wouldbe nice to have 3 new mechanism that will give us food.
1.Scavenging:
Thanks Zeb. Junk piles would be searchable, non destructible, and non pushable. You'd have something like 30% of finding an item. After 5 items are scavenged from a Junk pile it becomes Rubbish which is good for nothing. Items that can be found: can of food, groceries, batteries, seeds (see Gardening), improvised weapons, parts (for Crafting), ammo, lightsabers...what?
2.Gardening: growing vegetables in a patch of land. You'd need a garden tool (that doubles as a weapon) and seeds. After you've done the planting, plants will grow automatically (no water and stuff needed) in 1 week.
3.Cannibalism: hell yes. I've mentioned this before. Cannibalism would be supported with the trust system included in 6.0. Killing someone brands you as Murderer, eating someone brands you as Cannibal. In other words you turn out to be the bad guy. Corpse would stay fresh for a few days only, and they'd attract zombies too.
This new mechanisms would promote long term surviving, maintaining a strong shelter and keeping a good team of followers. And i think it would drastically change the pace of the game after 1 month of surviving.
Maybe its a bit too much to implement. Would you grow a garden in your shelter? Have you survived more than 1 month?
