Could we make a way to keep food fresh? Like being able to use a fridge or somethineg? I hoard all of the groceries just to find them spoiled in a few days.

At least this game lets you eat spoiled groceries.

That would be cool.
It would also tie into having open-able containers. You'd have to open the fridge to look inside it.
(Also, on open-able containers: You'd have to bash locked cabinets to open them. There could be safes, padlocks. Maybe you could put a padlock on a container to keep your items safer.)

This game very much lacks abilities to "move" an item under your feet to an adjacent tile and "take from" an adjacent tile (without "bumping").

Maybe you could "give" items to the refrigerator.

The fridges could have a system of adding one freshness per turn to the food placed on it to make an easier system.

This is the apocalypse though remember? There would be no power running the fridge to keep things fresh.
Either gotta get a cache of canned food, be the first to an army supply drop, or trade/kill refugees each day as they bring in goods.
It would perhaps be interesting if buildings, such as supermarkets, had their own generators (like in the subway stations) that could last for some time...

Ah, generators would make sense to power the refrigerators... I think they would work in limited sense as long as they were mostly unopened in real life but that is dependent on the insulation and generally too complex. But yes, generators would work! Or maybe salted foods or jerky? Jerky in a hunting store would make sense... But yeah, alternate foods that are resistant to spoiling. That might be good.

Oh! Also, refugees bringing in fresh groceries or supplies with them. They wouldn't make it into the city if they had starved to death!

What i am asking is : how did they get FRESH Groceries, Every grocery rots after day three or four, the refugees have Fresh groceries that somehow last to day 60(Example, when i played a 100-day game i did see a few refugees running around with groceries that last till day 104
